WHO WE ARE

As legendary recording pioneer Joe Meek famously said, "If it sounds right, it's right."

Wise words, to be sure, although the question remains, how do you know when it's right?

This is why sending your tracks out for professional mastering is so important.  In an era of DIY audio, achieving a well-mastered song or album takes more than the right tools; it takes the trained ear of a skilled technician who knows when (and perhaps more importantly, when not), to apply them.

CAROUSEL 44 MASTERING is owned and operated by Alan Brownstein, a Los Angeles-based audio engineer with more than 15 years of experience in digital audio production, including engineering credits on hundreds of commercially-released music albums and sound recordings.

Working professionally since 2006, Alan has mixed and mastered songs and albums for bands and solo artists encompassing a broad range of musical styles.  During that time he has also received accolades for his work as Mastering Engineer for the critically-acclaimed Now Sounds reissues and records label, and has been responsible for mastering the annual International Pop Overthrow CD, which has comprised a multitude of tracks by pop music groups from around the globe.

Whether a classic album remastered from the original tapes, a vinyl LP restoration, or a modern pop recording, from traditional Christmas albums to country music to punk rock, Carousel 44 has produced masters widely praised by critics, collectors, and audiophiles alike.  This is evidenced from consistently positive reviews in print magazines such as Record Collector, MOJO, Shindig, and others, popular music websites such as the Steve Hoffman forums and The Second Disc, as well as from client and customer feedback, for their tonally-balanced, highly detailed sound.

So...you've composed the songs, written the arrangements, recorded and mixed the tracks.  What's next?

Make sure it sounds "right!"  Get in touch, and let us assist you in the crucial final stage of your project.
